Diane Haynes, M.Ed.

Diane has worked on the Kentucky Deaf-Blind Project since October 1987. She began as both the Early Childhood and the Training Coordinator for the Project. She has served as the State Coordinator since 1998. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Kentucky, College of Education where she teaches courses in the special education teacher preparation programs. Before coming to the Deaf-Blind Project she was a classroom teacher. She has been in the field of education for thirty-one (31) years.
Diane enjoys delivering training on a variety of topics including teaching receptive and expressive communication skills and developing sensory friendly environments. She has written and published materials that include strategies for supporting young children and their families during early childhood transitions. She is on the Hope for Tomorrow Children’s Home (Guatemala) Steering Committee and has also been appointed as a board member for the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs (Title V program). Diane has been married to her husband, Michael for thirty-four (34) years. She spends her time living in both Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky working out of both offices and spending as much time as she can with family.
Children are her passion and she is currently dabbling with writing a children’s book.
